Possible Oscar

We interrupt our summer slumber to bring you this breaking news! For a few short days — 7/30 through 8/3 — the fine folks at CD Baby are doing something wonderful to help independent musicians. CD Baby is giving 100% of digital music sales to the artist without taking their customary cut. If you still have holes in your Possible Oscar collection, now is the time when your dollars can benefit us the most. Think of the children! (Seriously, think of the children. Jeff just had a kid.)

So saddle up your shoppin’ horse and trot on over to the Possible Oscar store at CD Baby to buy some music. If you already have all our music, then consider buying something from another artist. Every purchase helps the cause and validates our existence!

Our concert is scheduled against the Masquerade, so we decided to host our own costume contest. Get dressed up in your Saturday finest and be ready to participate in our POscarade contest. There will be prizes!

We are aware that there’s an invention called YouTube, and on this invention they show shows, or rather, videos of cats. With that in mind, we’ve been steadily starting to build up Possible Oscar’s YouTube channel to include actual stuff. We started by adding songs from our three albums, available for easy sharing. Now we also have actual video content! We’re still working on the cat videos.

Here are the latest additions:

Literally years ago, Jared entered the Contagious Graphics Free Stickers Weekly Contest. Weekly emails came and went — again, for years — without any indication that Jared was considered a winner. All of that changed last month when Jared was picked as a winner not of the weekly stickers, but of the big monthly prize of 48 Garage Sale T-shirts! Thank goodness those emails didn’t land in the spam box.

What this means is that we will have a new T-shirt available at CONvergence this year. We’ll get the shirt online for ordering shortly after we get them in stock. Per the parameters of the Garage Sale, the shirts will be in a variety of colors not of our choosing. Pricing has yet to be determined, but given our minimal production costs — not zero since our own time is worth something — we’re betting the price will be a bargain.
